Does my home need Duct Cleaning?

If you recently built a home or performed a remodel project, a duct cleaning is highly recommended to clean the drywall dust, sawdust, and construction debris that has entered your duct work system.

We all know kids can be messy and can make your home dirty real quick, but having unhealthy air can affect your kids in other multiple ways.  Children can develop many health side effects from dirty air, such as having trouble learning, mental health problems, depression, and ADHD.  Poor air quality also can cause other behavior issues.  It's well known that dirty air can cause asthma, allergies, and other health problems too, but everything else that is associated with having dirty air really can be downright scary.

Most of us consider our animals as family, but pet hair and dander can get in the ductwork and cause severe health issues because you constantly breathe it in.  The pet hair can also decrease efficiency resulting in higher gas and electric costs.  This increases your heating and cooling bills all year long.

Dust in homes is unavoidable, but some homes are worse that others.   Getting the current dust and dirt out of your ducts can help reduce dusting, but also it will be healthier for you and your family.  Most of our dust are our skin cells, that we shed, which are living breathing organisms.  

Each person sheds on average 1.5 pounds of skin each year. 

The skin cells are living organisms and most of the dust in ducts are skin cell feces.

If you recently got a new furnace or air conditioner it is suggested to have your ducts cleaned to prevent your brand new equipment potentially getting dirty. Dirt is the number one cause for efficiency issues and may eventually lead to costly repairs.  If you plan on replacing your equipment, it is recommended to have your ducts cleaned beforehand to start fresh with clean ductwork to keep the debris from getting into the brand new costly equipment.  If your HVAC company doesn't suggest indoor air quality products, we can help with that too.
